Learning curve

I’m tired. Yes people are coming and going, but I’ve finally hit the peak of learning, and things are beginning to be redundant. If I didn’t have an important mission over here, I don’t know how I’d make it another 4-5 months! I’m losing my favorite TSgt, but that was a given that he’d have to eventually go. I hear that his replacement is going to be pretty cool, so that’s exciting. Lately I’ve been having a hard time sleeping due to all the noise at night. I look forward to my own bed and peace and quiet!!! I got “thrown under a bus” yesterday. That phrase basically means that someone placed all the blame on you, and wanted to make you look bad instead of them. I was briefing and one of the lawyers that I work with decided not to tell me about an issue prior to the briefing and just placed a bunch of blame on me in front of everyone! Luckily I knew my stuff, my people, and where the information was supposed to be coming from. However, it was very disconcerting when we’re supposed to be working as a team, and instead lawyers are trying to make me look bad, only b/c it’s the only way that they’ll even be half normal. Seriously, I’m amazed any of them can function. They make blonds look like Harvard grads b/c they’re so ditzy!!! It’s sad to say, but I’m continually learning that you can’t trust everyone to do the right thing. On the bright side of things, I’m getting a lot of things accomplished that continually amaze people that 0-4’s can’t even get done. I’ve heard that I have a “special touch.” Ha! It’s just being friendly and saying hi to people all the time, not just when I want stuff and they reciprocate!
