Thank you all again sooo much for all the packages for my bday. They really were great and meant a lot. I currently have plenty of protein bars now, and don’t need anything at the moment but letters would still be wonderful. The people around me always love home baked stuff, but I’m ok if you don’t send it b/c I’m trying sooo hard to cut back:)
Now I’m going to get a bit philosophical. Carl Marx once said that “Christianity is the opiate of the masses.” I completely disagree and believe that God is oxygen! God is not just something that makes people feel better temporarily about themselves like drugs, God is an amazing all knowing, loving Father! I don’t know how people can go “under the wire” (into the actual city of Baghdad) every day, not knowing if they’ll come home, and still not believe in a higher power. Sometimes I see the convoys come back, and I just start praising God that another team has safely returned. I don’t know any of the guys personally, but I see them around, and most of them are younger than me! It breaks my heart to know that people have to go out and do what they do, but at the same time, we’re making a difference here! IEDs are diffused daily, and without the troops going to do this, many innocent people would be dying. (that's just one of their missions) On another religious thought, my TSgt is continually testing my religious knowledge and brought up a very good point today on how if you’re going to believe something you have to know all the facts about your religion. Good thing I went to a Christian school K-12 grade! But I’ve come to realize that no matter how good a person can be at presenting facts, the listener has to be ready to receive the information!
Grandma - we have a music folder at work on our computers, and on it is some Christian music and they had the song you use to play all the time "All things bright and beautiful" and I can't stop listening to it!!! For the rest of you still reading, (nosy people hehe) my sister and I use to go to Gma's house and make cookies, and she would play beautiful Christian choirs and symphonies that were so relaxing!
