Man is work hectic now with another job. I love being busy though, so I have no complaints there. I'm having some personnel issues with the contractor folks, but if I can learn to supervise unruly contractors that can leave at any time, then I can learn to lead military members that are stuck. Ok, so that might be harder b/c I'd prefer that problem employees leave, but I guess I'm learning more "finesse" with the contractors...
This week I was able to travel up north and that was a lot of fun. It was literally draining though b/c it was so hot sitting in the C-130 on the flight line that we were sweating really bad! Luckily once the flight took off the a/c worked! It’s a lot cooler up north, and there are trees! We were close to the Ninevah ruins and just being near such amazing Biblical history is incredible! The troops that we met with seem to be in pretty good spirits. All of them have been extended to the 15 months, and there is talk of adding another 3, for a total of 18 months. I feel so bad for the Army people, but yet they did volunteer for that branch of the military… I feel guilty that I get to leave at 6 months, but yet 6 months is still considered long for an AF deployment. Most people are still at 4, yet there are more all the time for 6 months or a year. Wish I could write more, but it’s a public blog for one, and I’m swamped with work!!!
