Loyalty

Another month is here! Whew! I had thought that I knew it all, had my job down pat – ha! I’m continuing to learn my new additional job for one, and I’m learning lots of leadership skills that I had not anticipated when coming out here. I love working with people though, so I’m enjoying the challenge. I read in a Christian leadership book last night about loyalty, and how as a good leader you need to have it for the people you work for, with, and for those who work for you. It goes along the lines of not back biting, and being sincere, but it has to be taken further than just that, as you have to instill those same qualities upon those who work for you. I've been having some issues with one of the girls that work for me, and two days ago TSgt D took her aside and talked to her, explaining that I wasn’t out to get her, and that I had to document a mistake she had made. TSgt D told me that she had talked to the other girl, telling her that I am a straight forward person, and what I say is what I mean. I was really touched that she stood up for me and told her that.
