75% oh ya!

I’m now over 75% done! What an amazing feeling it truly is! I got my airline tickets to go home last night and I was literally jumping for joy. I surprised a few people to say the least. I can’t tell you exact dates, but lets just say it couldn’t have worked out more perfectly!
This morning we had another 5k “fun run” and it was fun. I ran with my LCDR and he told me that I could leave him behind if I wanted to. I was tired, so I ran with him. Kinda funny that a guy who’s 6’5” told me that I could go ahead – I hadn’t realized how much faster I’ve gotten this deployment. So now that I’m way over the hump, I thought about some of my accomplishments since being here: Running 5k in 22 mins, ran my first 10k ever, lost 20lbs, learned some leadership skills, learned about Iraq, learned about a joint military environment, learned about what the Army “Grunts” do every day, and even flew around the country! I couldn't have asked for a better deployment.
