Tough choices

Sorry it's been awhile since I've posted - work is hectic and hot! Lately the air conditioning hasn’t been working on the 3rd floor – so it’s been really hot up here! They’re trying to fix the machines, and bring in new ones, but it’s miserable for now! It’s been so hot that the generators are going down b/c they can’t handle the temperatures either. The thermometer read 123 yesterday and I can only imagine what it’ll get up to before I leave here!
This morning I got to go to church at another part of base, and there were actual pews and a simple glass stained window at the front of the room. It really felt like I was at a church. That’s been a long time! We were challenged in the service to do our best at everything, and to never settle for less than God’s best. As Christians, we’re not to change our standards either for what other people tell us to. The media today definitely portrays a different lifestyle as normal than what God intends for people! Last night I found out some information that changed a decision our office had made. I presented it to my boss, and he said that it was too late to change it. I knew that it wasn’t, and was frustrated that he didn’t want to do anything about it. So today after hearing that sermon, I was really challenged to push for what I knew was right. My boss is gone for a few days now, so I was able to present the information to his replacement, and then we took it to our Colonel and went from there. I’m really excited that we were able to fix the issue. My boss might not be too happy when he gets back from his trip to see that I “pushed the envelope” but I couldn’t just let the wrong thing be done when people have worked so hard around here to make a difference.
